This standard applies to unfilled liquid asphaltic materials in the form of aqueous emulsions of the mineral-colloid type for use as sprayed, trowelled or brushed-on coatings for dampproofing and waterproofing concrete or masonry surfaces, and for built-up roofs and other roof surfaces.
The product to this standard is intended primarily for use in dampproofing and waterproofing applications in building construction, but is suitable also for use as a weather-resistant surfacing in built-up roofing systems on old and new roofing construction. This product should not be applied over coal-tar base materials. It must be protected from freezing in transit and during application and curing.
